Where we are today

North Garden Lodge Project update

It has been a MINUTE since I have written an updated blog post on North Garden Lodge. I do small updates on my instagram stories but that doesn’t even begin to capture where the project is at. If you have come across the blog post and you haven’t been following the journey here is a recap. North Garden Lodge is a destination rental lodge in Coeur d’alene, Idaho. It has three levels which can be rented out at separate times. The lodge features 3 kitchens, 3 living rooms, 8 bedrooms,10 bathrooms and three patios. Not to mention the AMAZING views of the lake. 

Let’s bring it up to speed.

FRAMING // MATERIALS

We got a little bit held up in framing due to inspections and adjustments but once we passed our framing inspection I swear the project came to life overnight. As a designer it is MAGIC once drywall starts going up and the walls start to get painted. Everything starts to take shape and the interior starts to come to life. At this point I had already completed cabinet drawings and finalized materials. I was busy putting together countertop and lighting proposals during this time. While also finalizing the furniture budget for this amazing lodge.

Where we are at currently

FURNITURE // PROCURMEMENT

We are about 90% done with the furniture phase of the design. I am just working out some of the custom furniture pieces that we are working on and finalizing window treatments. One aspect of the design that I am SO excited for is the custom furniture pieces we are planning on doing with local artisans. NGL is so special because all aspects of the design have been brought to life through the local community. This project has taken a village of the most creative people to bring it into fruition. I could go on…but I’ll save you from the heartfelt mush. The next phase will be procurement and putting in orders and tracking everything. This is arguably the hardest stage of my design process just because of all the tracking and logistics. Everything before the stage is creative and collaborative. 

What is coming up

Then….INSTALL DAY! I probably won’t write another blog post between now and install day but we are projecting furniture installation to be in August or September of this year. So you’ll have to stay tuned.
