My 3 business goals for 2023

I will admit this year is a little different than 2022. It just feels different. In 2022 I felt so motivated to hussle and work crazy hours and I got very burnt out. This year for 2023 I want to take things a little bit slower and get more intentional with studio eight. I am less focused on setting lofty goals and I just wanted to set a few smaller goals for this year. 

Business goal #1

Write a business plan. If you followed along with me on my 2022 business goals then you will know I borrowed this goal from last year. I don’t know what it is but I just have not been able to set aside time to create a business plan. And in all honesty I think it has taken me a good year to really even understand what I want for studio eight. But now that I have a clearer vision for S8 I feel so much more confident creating a business plan. 

Business goal #2

Host an event or try something new. As a solo designer I spent SO much of my time wearing so many different hats. Running the business is a full time job and designing is a full time job. There is so much that goes into owning an interior design business that I feel like I don’t have much time to try new things or do something fun. I would love to host some sort of event or try out a new hobby. Something that lets me express my creativity that is not tied to clients, budgets and timelines. This goal is slightly vague but I want to keep it pretty open to whatever comes my way. 

Business goal #3

Strengthen/create relationships with local vendors. This goal is something I am continuously working on and probably always will be working on. But this year I would love to forge some new relationships with other business owners that are in the industry. People that I can trust and have similar business values. 

I really think that by keeping my business goals small this year will be huge for me. I am a very goal oriented person but sometimes I think it is nice to take some time and step back and soak it all in.
