Life update for ya

I think from a social media standpoint I have been super quiet. And then behind the scenes about a million things have been going on. So I thought it would be nice to do a life/business update/ramble. 

First and foremost – I will be adding a new junior design to the team – baby Rivera! I have hinted at it but haven’t posted much but her arrival is coming SOON. Like 6 weeks soon. So I have been faced with a decision of what to do with S8 while I am on leave and what maternity leave looks like for someone who is self employed.  Currently I have closed my project schedule and am not accepting any new projects for the next 4-6 months so I can spend time with the little misses. For the past two years of my interior design company I have been working full throttle and putting everything into my designs. So I am looking forward to navigating new mom life here shortly and taking some time off. Once I am off maternity leave my project schedule will likely open up more toward the end of 2023/24. 

I also have hinted at a new company that I have co-founded with Timothy Murenzi called the designers hub. Let me tell you – running a full service interior design firm while pregnant while also founding a whole nother company has kept me BUSY. Thank goodness I love being a busy gal and my co-founder is da BOMB. Essentially the designers hub is a new platform geared towards helping interior designers and decorators find highly vetted professionals to outsource their business tasks too. In the first year/two of my business I WISH something like this was available to me. The platform can help designers find bookkeepers, accountants, 3D rendering artists, business coaches pretty much any service. And all the pro’s are hand selected by myself, Timothy and our creative board. I am excited to watch this new company grow alongside studio eight in the coming years. 

North Garden Lodge and Gozzer Glam. Both projects are projected to wrap up furniture install at the end of august and then will get photographed shortly after. And boy let me tell you – I am PUMPED. Any of my designer friends can tell you how exciting it is to photograph projects that you love. And I feel like both of these projects are a part of me and I have spent the past two years with the clients. I don’t even want to think about not seeing the clients on these projects anymore MEH 🙁 Both of these projects have been pivotal for my company and have helped shape me as an interior designer. I cannot wait to share the finished projects with everyone. AH!

Next project I have been working on is…..A SECRET 🙂 You guys will have to stay tuned till later this year… maybe even next year hehe
